Packaging Lead

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, read and interpret safety, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the packaging team to ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality output.
- Assign daily tasks to team members to meet volume and quality objectives.
- Train new team members on proper procedures for weighing, sealing, and handling packaging materials.
- Inspect packaging materials to ensure they are free of defects and suitable for use.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure all products meet company and regulatory standards.
- Complete all required paperwork clearly, accurately, and legibly.
- Ensure all personnel are properly trained in the safe and sanitary use of packaging equipment.
- Communicate machinery issues promptly to maintenance and the Warehouse Manager.
- Proactively identify and suggest opportunities for improvement in processes or procedures.
- Uphold and enforce all safety, sanitation, and quality protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
- Prior experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment, with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong communication and team leadership skills.
- Ability to train, mentor, and motivate team members.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety.
- Basic mechanical understanding of packaging equipment preferred.
- Experience working with QA teams or in quality-controlled environments.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety standards in food or product packaging
