F&B Wild Roast Deli Manager

SALARY RANGE: $45K

JOB SUMMARY

The Deli Manager is responsible for all aspects of employment of Wild Roast staff including hiring, scheduling, administering performance evaluations, and addressing employee relation issues. This position will monitor daily expenses and revenues along with ordering supplies and food items. To be successful in this role, you should have work experience with varying roles in coffee shops. In addition, the Deli Manager will need to be available to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays. 

               

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensures customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient and friendly service, placing customers’ interest first.  
  2. Manages day-to-day operations of Wild Roast. 
  3. Supervises Wild Roast staff including hiring, termination, performance coaching and counseling, evaluation, leave approval, training and development and prepares weekly work schedules for staff and finds suitable replacements in cases of staff absence. 
  4. Participation and development of a tribal member workforce. 
  5. Trains employees on drink preparation and proper use of coffee equipment and preparation of deli menu items. 
  6. Coordinates with vendors and orders supplies as needed including food items. 
  7. Reviews, weekly and monthly revenues, and expenses to help identify ways to decrease operational costs. 
  8. Takes inventory of café supplies and verifies that the correct items and quantities have been delivered. 
  9. Suggests new menu items based on customers’ preferences and feedback 
  10.  Advises staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and delivers excellent customer service. 
  11. Maintains time and temp logs as required.
  12. Maintains cleaning procedures and updates as necessary.
  13. Upholds food safety practices and holds staff accountable for set standards.
  14. Ensure all areas of the Wild Roast are clean and well presented.
  15. Identifies strategies to retain and attract customers. 
  16. Participates and attends designated meetings, trainings, activities, etc., as directed. 
  17. Promotes teamwork and communication throughout the F&B department. 
  18. Work with F&B Director and F&B Manager on budget projections and work plans for Wild Roast. 
  19. Models and ensures safe operation of equipment, tools, and materials. 
  20. Complies with and makes sound decisions using regulatory laws, WRC Team Member Handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc. 
  21. Promotes internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior. 
  22. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:

  1. Wild Roast operations and staff.

SIGNATORY ABILITY:

  1. Wild Roast Deli bank
  2. Prepare Purchase orders for Director Approval
  3. Personnel actions/forms
  4. Input schedules into payroll system (Nova time)

ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS:

  1. POS (as needed), storage areas, employee files
  2. Storage Area

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Three (3) years of food and beverage management experience.
  2. Two (2) years’ experience as a Barista.
  3. Experience with menu planning, purchasing and inventory control.
  4. High School Diploma or GED.
  5. Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
  6. Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines.
  7. Requires a food handler’s permit or must obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  8. Effective communication skills-verbally able to provide instruction, responds to questions, communicates differences with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  9. Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time in a noisy environment; needs to perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; good visual and auditory acuity to effectively respond.
  10. Demonstrates computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS experience.
  11. Availability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
  12. Presentable and professional personal appearance and hygiene habits.
  13. Excellent communication skills.
  14. Exceptional customer service skills.
  15. Requires a High Security Gaming license clearance.
  16. Must be 21 years of age.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Hospitality/Tourism.
  2. ServSafe Certification.
