Seasonal Quality Assurance Technician

Position Summary
 
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the quality technician will inspect, test, sample and weigh products for color, size and deviation from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.
 
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, read and interpret safety, operating instruction and procedure manuals. Ideal candidate must be willing to walk and stand up to 10 hours per day, frequently push, pull, and lift up-to 20 pounds. Must be dependable, a team player and have good communication skills and wear PPE specific to position.
 
Position Responsibilities

  • Pull product samples from the line and analyze against a standard
  • Perform metal detector verification, magnet checks, finished goods audits, etc.
  • Accurately report product and shift analyses timely
  • Prepare laboratory samples for testing and retention
  • Assist production supervisor/lead in GMP and orientation training as needed
  • Timely provide production with accurate case labels
  • Collect and report any unusual findings to production supervisor and accurately fill out required paperwork.
  • Assist supervisor in monitoring GMP’s and sanitation procedures and report any discrepancies.
  • Maintain an organized and clean lab by keeping tools clean and in appropriate area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
  • 6 months to one year experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred
  • Frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull up to 10 pounds
  • Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  • Knowledge of quality standards and sanitation procedures

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; moderate cold; moderate heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
